'SNL' Stars Colin Jost and Michael Che to Host 2018 Emmys

While television fans wait to see who will land nominations for the 2018 Emmys, we finally have some more information about the ceremony itself: "Saturday Night Live" stars Colin Jost and Michael Che will serve as co-hosts for the telecast.

NBC -- which will air the Emmys this fall -- announced the news on Thursday, and also revealed that "SNL" mastermind Lorne Michaels will executive produce the show. In a statement to Variety, NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt teased that there would also be "surprise appearances by other cast members of 'Saturday Night Live,'" translating into an entertaining night for audiences watching at home.

"I think we are in for one of the funniest awards shows in a long time," Greenblatt told the trade.

Paul Telegdy, president of NBC Entertainment's alternative and reality group, added in a statement to Variety that the network was "proud of our deep comedy roster," and promised viewers that the Emmys would be "the must-see comedy event of the year."

Jost and Che, who serve as writers and actors on the show in addition to co-anchoring "Weekend Update," released their own statement about the news, telling Variety, "We're proud to be the first duo hosting the Emmys since Jenna Elfman and David Hyde Pierce, and somehow that's a real fact."

The more you know.

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Monday, September 17 on NBC.
