Friday 11 PM update: The final weekend of the year will bring 2017 to a close with an estimated $11.11 billion at the domestic box office. That’s the third best domestic year ever, and the third time in a row that the U.S./Canada ticket sales have clicked past the lofty mark of $11 billion. 2017 is apt to be nickels behind 2015’s $11.13 billion total, and 2.5% behind last year’s all-time record of $11.4 billion.
